Saskatchewan Artist Research Project

Here is the research criteria we have come up with as a class for art.
Below the criteria are some links where you can learn about artists in Saskatchewan, their works, and what inspired them.

Your first task:
    - start exploring the links and select an artist to do your project
      on.
    - read about that artists and gather information that answers the
questions from the checklist we brainstormed.

Research Checklist:

1. Where in Saskatchewan is the artist from?

2. What kind of art does he or she create?

3. What inspires him or her to create their artwork?

4. Why did they decide to become an artist?

5. Find other facts that you think are interesting.

    Examples:

- Do they have any famous pieces of artwork?

- What age did they start creating art at?

Back in the Swing of Things!

We are back in the swings of things this week at school. We have been busy preparing for our Math test which will be tomorrow and then are moving on to multiplication and division. We also have been busy starting off a new unit in science on light and in ELA reading Purquoi Tales - tales that answer the question why. We will be writing our own Pourquoi stories later this week. Everyone is really excited about it!

Yesterday and today we have been discussing how light travels and have learned some new vocabulary such as ray, artificial light, natural light, reflect, and emit. Ask them what these words mean!

Here was an experiment we did yesterday that helped us answer the question of how light travels.
